Just a clean-up
The simplest thing you can do for your teeth: a proper look, a careful clean and honest feedback in plain language — no lectures, however long it’s been.
Toothache right now? We keep same-day slots — and we answer.
Call nowWhy it happens
Plaque builds on every set of teeth, no matter how well you brush — and in the spots a brush can’t reach, it hardens into tartar, which no amount of brushing removes.
Left alone, tartar quietly inflames the gums and gives decay a place to start. Most dental trouble begins exactly this way: small, painless and invisible, in the gap between visits.
How we fix it
Usually one visit, about the length of a lunch break. The dentist has a thorough look at your teeth, gums and mouth, then tells you what’s healthy, what to watch and why — in plain language, with X-rays only if there’s a real reason for them.
Then a careful scale and polish lifts away the plaque and tartar a toothbrush can’t. Most people find it more ticklish than sore — and if it’s been years, the only difference is that the first visit may run a little longer.
Keeping it fixed
The clean gets your teeth back to baseline — these habits are how you hold it:
- Brush twice a day for two minutes, with a soft brush and gentle pressure — scrubbing harder doesn’t clean better.
- Clean between your teeth once a day. That’s where most of the trouble we see gets its start.
- Come back on the rhythm we recommend for your mouth — for most people, every six months — so small problems get caught while they’re still small.
What it costs
Medical aid rates. We quote before we treat.
A routine check-up and clean is one of dentistry’s smallest bills — and the one that keeps the big ones away.
