CompCare (Universal) dental benefits, in plain language
CompCare (Universal) splits its dental cover into two very different worlds. On Umbono and Umbono Plus, dentistry is an insured, network-only benefit: one consultation per person per year, including preventative care, infection control, fillings, extractions and dental X-rays — but only at a Universal Care Network dentist, and only up to R2,080 per beneficiary, capped at R3,580 per family, each year.
The rest of the range — Selfsure, Symmetry, Dynamix, Pinnacle, Networx and Mumed — takes a more familiar route: basic dentistry funded through savings or day-to-day benefits depending on the option, with Networx being the network-based one. The structure is confirmed for 2026, but the rand figures for these options aren't — check the current option schedules before you rely on them.
One more fork worth knowing: on the Umbono options, specialised dentistry isn't part of the dental benefit at all — it's only available through the shared Annual Flexi Benefit. If bigger work is on the horizon, it pays to know which pot it will come from before you start.

We claim directly from medical aids. Before treatment we do a benefit check with your scheme — bring your card and your option name — so you know what your plan pays before you sit in the chair. You pay only co-payments and anything your plan doesn’t cover or has already used up. And as always: we quote before we treat.
Option by option
