Remedi dental benefits, in plain language
Remedi is a restricted scheme for the Remgro group, and its dental cover starts with a genuinely useful habit: one preventative exam per person every 12 months, paid from the scheme's hospital (risk) benefit rather than your savings. That visit covers an oral exam, infection control, a polish and fluoride — for adults and children alike.
All three options — Classic, Comprehensive and Standard — share that yearly exam. Beyond it, the way the rest of your dentistry is funded depends on your option, as set out in Remedi's 2026 dental guide, with appliances funded through the specialised, in-hospital or savings channels that apply to your plan.
The forks worth knowing: severe dental and oral surgery needs pre-authorisation and must meet clinical criteria, and Remedi Standard carries no specialised dentistry at all. And as with every scheme, Remedi pays at its own tariff — so it's worth understanding your option before major work begins.

We claim directly from medical aids. Before treatment we do a benefit check with your scheme — bring your card and your option name — so you know what your plan pays before you sit in the chair. You pay only co-payments and anything your plan doesn’t cover or has already used up. And as always: we quote before we treat.

Worth knowing before you book
- The risk-paid preventative exam is once per person every 12 months — extra visits fall under your option's ordinary funding rules.
- Remedi Standard has no specialised dentistry benefit at all.
